It’s gonna be hanging OUTSIDE in NATURE! 𝑼̲̅𝒑̲̅𝒔̲̅𝒕̲̅𝒂̲̅𝒕̲̅𝒆̲̅ 𝑰̲̅𝒎̲̅𝒎̲̅𝒆̲̅𝒓̲̅𝒔̲̅𝒊̲̅𝒗̲̅𝒆̲̅ 𝑺̲̅𝒄̲̅𝒖̲̅𝒍̲̅𝒑̲̅𝒕̲̅𝒖̲̅𝒓̲̅𝒆̲̅ 𝑷̲̅𝒓̲̅𝒐̲̅𝒋̲̅𝒆̲̅𝒄̲̅𝒕̲̅ will activate public parks in POUGHKEEPSIE NY, with food trucks and music, and 🎆FIREWORKS🎆 on the closing night. Get out of town and come safely hang (with your masks on) and pose for all your selfies and IG posts in front of my #paintings!

🚄TRANSPORTATION: is incredibly easy from NYC, with AMTRAK/METRO-NORTH trains taking you under 2 hours 🌓 Exhibition is a 5 min walk from the station 🚂

For all of them, the act of art-making is deeply informed by their queer identities. It has become a form of resistance towards their oppressive cultural upbringing. Yet, at the same time, their work offers an array of resources to navigate and celebrate the "otherness" and open up new possibilities to be in the world. The overall installation is a rebus-like reminiscence of a medieval chapel and/or dungeon, with intricate and enigmatic accents of pleasure, trickery, and desire.

I think ‘Au Naturel’ is one of the best paintings I’ve ever made - when I finished it I was like I’m a genius, which is particularly hilarious because a few hours before that I was feeling the exact opposite. You know how that goes.

I’ll be showing this painting (and other paintings, drawings and a monoprint!) alongside the work of chris_lucius and paulgagner at booth 1143 in this year’s SPRING BREAK Art Show next week from Sept 8-13 in NYC.

The Dead Last’ is curated by libbyrosa and chris_lucius and features work that addresses the use of humor in the social acceptance of death.
