The modules of the kitchen, completly made in stainless steel, become exaggerated forms thanks to sharply drawn outlines and a distinctive range of hues. Contrasting colours, including on surfaces resembling wood slats, create a modern juxtaposition in the individual pieces.
The flexible CUBE outdoor kitchen, works for spaces in both compact urban environments and more generously proportioned areas 🏡 🏢 hallelujah!

simbol, is a plant fiber which grows in the argentine province of Catamarca, usually on the river banks ; in the Valles Calchaquies area and the Quilmes ruins (close to TUCUMAN) or in Tolomoye ; during all year long, but mostly in autumn and winter because it needs to be cut at the right moment.
This material, from its simplicity and territorial humility, can be transformed ; as you start weaving the fibers, it`s gaining strength, creating a flexible weft with some kind of poesy in its path and it suddenly stops being just a simple material. Moving with rhythm in the space.

The landscape of the valley of Catamarca in Argentina rises as an aesthetic challenge of silhouettes, undulations and plains that rest at the foot of the Andes, where Simbol grows. This vegetal fiber is the protagonist of the art of contemporary basketry. To capture and transmit the Andes landscape implies an instance that confronts us with the simplicity and brutal honesty of the material.

Talking with nnnnnshook, you get the feeling that she’s actually many people trying to be one person. Born and bred in the Midwest, the Cuban-American artist moved to New York to study painting at the famed Cooper Union but quickly discovered an affinity for carpentry and fabrication. A taste of the polymathic led her to launch piscina.piscina, a design studio and collective in Red Hook, Brooklyn, showcasing the talents of woodworkers, ceramicists, and metalsmiths.
All, appropriately, feature in her debut collection. Headlined by a showstopping oak shelving unit and rounded out by ceramic and cast-iron pieces, it launched to considerable acclaim at ICFF 2022. She won Best New Designer and, for good measure, Best in Show. “Moving from painting into the applied arts was a big shift,” Shook says. “I needed to build a space where I could explore new media. To have the collection percolating and seeing it so well-received was so affirming.” With that shift came a realization: despite committing herself to the practice every day since she was 14, she was no longer just a painter.
On any given day, Piscina’s 7,000-square-foot workshop teems with artists and designers plying their trade. Saws buzz on the communal woodworking floor. Pottery wheels whir in the light-filled ceramic studio. Collaboration abounds. Solutions are workshopped. The results don’t have to travel far. Just around the corner, on Red Hook’s burgeoning Van Brunt Street, an assortment of furniture pieces, decor objects, and fine jewelry are displayed in the Piscina storefront.
