Any special people who support your practice?
My Life, Pascal and Oliver
Which artwork is the most personally meaningful to you?
Since I’m a father I realized that the important things in life are very simple. When I am painting, I delve inward, striving to be as honest as possible with the artifacts of self-discovery I encounter. This Self portrait of me and my first son reminds me of that everyday.
Is there a piece that signifies a breakthrough for you?
With reality as the foundation to my practice, I create a vibrant narrative and a personal reflection on the world."The Daily Neighborhood" was a a breakthrough for me as it let me seek new ways to interpret one’s truth visually and the importance of everyday life. Finding inspiration in these unusual and yet commonplace experiences, by exploring the complexity of such simple moments and rendering them on a monumental scale
Do you have a piece that you made during a rough patch in your life?
Everybody wants 5 more minutes in bed.
Which of your artworks reminds you of your youth or where you’re from?
For dust you are and to dust you should return
How did you use materials to communicate your ideas?
I have always been a Fan of Up-cycling objects, giving them new meaning and life through my work. For example in "Alexa do The Laundry" I Up-Cycle my cloths.
Is there a piece that is conveying a specific message to the viewers?
"NO MATTER HOW BAD IT GETS, I'M ALWAYS RICH AT THE FAMILY DOLLAR STORE" was a painting i made during the Black lives matter marches in 2020. trying to cope with those surreal times with a little bit of humor.
